What’s the Problem?

Renewable power developers want to build new projects, for example, wind farms, and be able to sell their power through long term contracts assuring a reasonable income stream, and make financing possible and affordable.

Energy users want to support renewable power development and want to be able to enter in long term contracts that will assure a reasonably priced and affordable energy supply.

The current system has not effectively brought developers and users together to support their common interests in a win-win fashion.

Developers are forced to negotiate with utilities for power purchase agreements (PPAs) typically at below market prices or with other large resellers of power typically at less than optimal terms.

Users find that they either can’t buy, or can’t afford, renewable power offerings from utilities or competitive suppliers under retail competition.
